GRACE Trinity School for Girls’ four Scholars teams recently attended the annual World Scholar’s Cup hosted in Bangkok, Thailand.
The girls returned with a total of 15 silver and gold medals collectively. In addition to the medals, they returned with writing, debating and problem-solving skills that will arm them well for the future. Each candidate also adopted an alpaca – the Cup’s mascot.
Four of the seven qualifying teams left on June 23 to participate in the ninth World Scholar’s Cup. Delegates from 50 countries enter the challenge and spend five days with the mascot, Alpaca Jerry.
The South African contingent were proudly South African when they hosted the national table, showcasing our great nation and sharing aspects of our country with 3 400 delegates from 50 countries. South Africa’s diversity contributed to the team’s value.
