Fuel strike to bite motorists

Motorists are advised to fill their fuel tanks before pumps run dry.

Motorists are advised to fill their fuel tanks before pumps run dry. The Chemical Energy Paper Printing Wood and Allied Workers Union (Ceppwawu) said that its members will forge ahead with strike action.

The strike is expected to affect mainly fuel refineries and depots and impact on delivery to filling stations. The union is demanding a 9 per cent wage increase while the employers are offering 7 per cent. According to Ceppwawu’s Clement Chitja. the strike will continue until their demands are met.
