Lux College becomes victim of crime

Members of the public are warned to be aware of such incidents.

LUX College, in New Redruth, became a victim of theft when two middle-aged women came along, posing as prospective parents.

The incident happened on Tuesday, August 31, at around 15:30.

A staff member ushered the well-presented women into the office and then left for about a minute, to get the necessary application forms.

Before the staff member could return to the office, the women started leaving in a rush. It was then discovered that the office had been ransacked.

The intruders had gone through all the drawers and cupboards, and even paged through books. A few personal items, as well as cash, were stolen.

Members of the public are warned to be aware of such incidents.

Alberton SAPS is investigating.
