Suspects charged with attempted murder

Two suspects are on the run after their two accomplices were caught and charged with attempted murder.

BRACKENHURST: Four male suspects drove through an official police search-and-go after they were involved in trying to break into a house in Brackenhurst.

Yesterday, September 22, police pursued four suspects driving a silver VW Polo, who sped off, refusing to stop at the search… police did not know of the attempted housebreaking.

After the suspects tried to ram numerous vehicles, including police vehicles, off the road, police members shot at the vehicles tyres in an attempt to try to stop them.

Two of the four suspects were caught and charged with attempted murder, although it is not clear whether they appeared in court as police are searching for further information as part of the investigation.

One of the suspects drove into a wall in Meyersdal. The vehicle was impounded and gloves, a crowbar and screwdrivers were found in the vehicle.

Police are further investigating the case.
