Shoes stolen at mosque

How low can criminals get if they start stealing shoes at a mosque?

SOME thieves have no respect for a house of prayer or even the dead at a cemetery. They target any place and steal everything they can lay their hands on.

The Muslim community that attends prayer meetings at the mosque on the corner of Borgward and Abraham streets in Eden Park, reported that shoes are being stolen while prayer meetings are in process.

A member, who asked to remain anonymous, said the stealing has been going on since May this year. He said the thieves choose to steal expensive shoes and are very selective. He added the worst day is always a Friday, when the mosque is full and there’s a choice from a huge diversity of shoes.

“Plans are being put in place to curb the stealing of shoes by these senseless thieves. We pray for them,” the member explained.
