A WOMAN has allegedly been raped and stabbed, following a spate of serious crime plaguing Alberton of late.
At around 12:00 noon today, a man allegedly broke into a house on Humphreys Street, Southcrest, and raped and stabbed a woman before fleeing into the veld.
According to Elowayne Gouws, from Fox Security’s medical unit, they were awaiting backup, namely a helicopter and the Police K9 unit, to search for the suspect.
It is not yet known how serious the victim’s wounds are, but Gouws says the stabbing was not fatal.
RECORD will stay on the case and will keep readers updated as information becomes available.
