THERESA DE AGRELLA: The low-cost housing will be devastating for Alberton because the crime rate will rise by 100 per cent.
A development planner has applied to the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality to subdivide and rezone the land situated on the corners of Swartkoppies and Lincoln Roads, opposite the Lemon Tree shopping centre to low-cost housing.

The government is trying to uplift people and give them houses.SAMANTHA BOOYSEN: One major concern is the negative impact it will have on the property market/prices in the area. Property prices will drop like crazy.
