Several police vehicles, a police truck and a K9-unit on October 1 gathered in Baakhout Street, Branckendowns.
The vehicle tracking company Tracker, with the help of EMPD, was tracking an orange Ford Eco-Sport to a house in this street. According to EMPD cluster spokesperson, Capt André de Jager, it was found that the vehicle had been hijacked.

He added that another hijacked vehicle, a white Mercedes, had been found at the same house. In addition to the stolen vehicles, EMPD found an unlicensed firearm with live rounds of ammunition in the house.
De Jager said the EMPD arrested a 29-year-old suspect who was found at the house. The matter is being investigated.
