The old Ekurhuleni waste station in Hennie Alberts, Albersdal is completely covered by all sorts of waste including: old nappies, refuse bags filled with garbage and scattered papers everywhere.
ALBERTSDAL – “Ratepayers money was used to build the waste station, now it has been dismantled and all that is left is the rubbish which has been dumped there, this is an eyesore,” said Cynthia van Heerden.
Apparently, to Cynthia’s concern, she is unaware of what the EMM intend to do with the site. “What has been done with the gates, bricks and roof of the building which have all been removed?” she asks.
Cynthia believes that a sign should be placed at the site indicating: “No dumping” and direct people to the waste station in Heidelberg road.
