Two suspects arrested for dealing in CAT and Mandrax

A 32-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man were arrested and they are expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.

A JOINT EMPD Drug enforcement unit with SAPS Crime Intelligence in Eden Park yielded two arrests. CAT and Mandrax were also seized.

The suspects, a man and a woman, were arrested on Wednesday morning, February 7 at a residence on Leyland Street in Eden Park where narcotics in the form of CAT and Mandrax were found. The seizure of the drugs and the arrests took place around 10.15am.

Thirteen ziplock bags of CAT, 26 half-moon Mandrax tablets and 10 full Mandrax tablets were found at this residence. The estimated total value of the drugs is R6 000. Additionally, cash amounting to R553 was confiscated as suspected proceeds of dealing in narcotics.

A 32-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man were arrested and detained at Eden Park police station on charges of possession and dealing in illicit substances.

They are expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
