A POLICE vehicle crashed into a ditch during a high-speed chase on K146 Street on April 25.
The police vehicle was in pursuit of a vehicle that was hijacked in Thokoza the previous night and was following the stolen car through the stop street at K146 and Packard Street when a disturbance caused the driver to lose control of the police vehicle.
The police vehicle had four suspects, who were arrested for possession of drugs, in the back during the time of the accident.
“The driver and passenger officers that were in the accident were taken to hospital for the treatment of light injuries,” said Captain Mega Ndobe spokesperson for the Katlehong police. “The suspects that were in the back were also taken to hospital for treatment.”
The hijacked vehicle the police car was chasing was later recovered in Kwanele Sector.
