Benoni Flying Squad recovers stolen vehicle in Palmridge

Two suspects arrested in Palmridge where they claimed the stolen vehicle they were driving was an Uber.

BENONI Flying Squad members arrested two suspects for possession of a stolen vehicle on May 1 at around 5pm.

The incident occurred when Sergeant Lindiwe Dladla and Constable Ntebaleng Mokobane tracked a gold Toyota Corolla reported stolen in Honeydew earlier in the afternoon.

The suspects were spotted driving the vehicle in Palm Ridge Extension One with the two suspects inside. Upon pulling them over it was alleged by the suspects that the car is an Uber vehicle and the driver worked for the owner. However, due to a case of a stolen vehicle being investigated, the suspects were detained at Eden Park SAPS.

ARRESTED: The suspects that claimed the stolen car they were driving was an Uber taxi.

Both suspects, aged 25, will be appearing in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court soon facing a charge of possession of a stolen motor vehicle and investigation still continues.
