THE two-year-long court case to convict the people accused of murdering Alan Grobler in a shootout in 2015 came to a close on October 4.
Julius Nyamisane and Philani Ndlovu were found guilty in the Johannesburg High Court of murder for their involvement in the shootout that led to the death of Grobler who was the owner of TPS Security, and another security officer.
The shootout took place in the Hill on July 23, 2015.
According to Brigadier Mathapelo Peters, spokesperson for Gauteng SAPS, the two accused were each sentenced to four life jail terms with a further 55 years of prison time. All together, they were found guilty on 13 counts which include murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, attempted murder, possession of firearms without serial numbers, possession of a fully automatic firearm, possession of a semi-automatic firearm and possession of ammunition.
Two further suspects, Ojei Chukuekwe and Orji Felix, involved in the case, are still at large. The pair skipped bail, and a warrant has been issued for their arrest.
