Trial of Adrian van Wyk moved to Johannesburg High Court

Adrian van Wyk will appear in Johannesburg High Court on October 26 to face four charges related to the murder of Melonique Klassen in March.

THE trial of Adrian van Wyk, who was charged with the murder of Melonique Klassen which took place in March, has been officially moved to the Johannesburg High Court.

Van Wyk appeared in Palm Ridge Magistrate’s court on October 22 where the magistrate informed him of the case being moved to the High Court. For the High Court trial a further three charges have been added to the case. Van Wyk will be charged with murder, theft, as well as unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition. He will appear in the Johannesburg High Court on October 26 for pre-trial, where the charges against him will be read.

The magistrate sent an order through for Van Wyk to be moved from his current place of incarceration in Boksburg to Johannesburg Prison to be closer to the courthouse.
