THE former treasurer of the Bank of Athens, Enzo Pietropaolo’s trial began on November 12 at the Johannesburg High Court and will continue on November 13.
Pietropaolo pleaded not guilty to the murder of his wife and his father. He admitted to a charge of culpable homicide against his deceased wife. He also pleaded guilty to stealing the firearm from his father’s house and carrying an unlicensed firearm.
Craig Pietropaolo (son of the accused) and Alfonso Pietropaolo (brother) will testify in court today.
Pietropaolo is accused of firing nine shots at his estranged wife, Manuela (Mannie) at her home in Iris Street, Brackenhurst, last year. He is also accused of murdering his father.
Today also marks a year since Manuela (Mannie) Pietropaolo was killed. Supporters for Mannie wore black T-Shirts with ‘Justice for Mannie’ during the court case.
Her family hopes the trial will get underway so they can find answers as to what exactly happened on November 13 last year.
