Five suspects arrested in joint operation

The message of zero tolerance towards crime was loud and clear.

THE Brackendowns and Elsburg SAPS along with Fidelity ADT’s special reaction unit conducted a blitz on crime in the two areas on January 18 and made five arrests.

The message of zero tolerance towards crime was loud and clear. In Alberton a suspect dealing in marijuana was arrested, as was a suspect involved in theft of a motor vehicle.

The Elsburg team went to the Dekema Mall in Wadeville where three suspects were arrested, one whom was on a ‘wanted’ list regarding a truck hijacking in the area. The other two were arrested for carrying weapons.

Linda Goodenough, community development manager at Fidelity ADT, said working with Capt Foord from Brackendowns SAPS and Lt Col Opperman from Elsburg SAPS was inspiring.

“They have a no-nonsense attitude. It was an honour working with these two station heads and their dedicated officers. We will continue to do so going forward,” said Goodenough.
