Alberton SAPS says no opened cases will be withdrawn

“If one has opened a case he/she must understand that the case will not be cancelled or withdrawn by the police officer at the police station,” says Alberton SAPS spokesperson Capt Manare Ramotshela.

TOP management at Alberton SAPS, under the leadership of Col Doctor Sibuyi, have come to the decision that cases can no longer be withdrawn at the station.

“If one has opened a case he must understand that the case will not be cancelled or withdrawn by the police officer at the police station,” said Alberton SAPS spokesperson Capt Manare Ramotshela.

“The case will only be withdrawn at a court of law. SAPS appeals to the community to make sure that they want to lay a charge and are not planning to withdraw it. The court of law is the only way to go,” said Ramotshela. “So think before you take your stance.”
