Alberton SAPS welcomes harsh sentence of robbers

The accused held up a victim with a toy gun.

ALBERTON SAPS station commander Col Doctor Sibuyi welcomes the harsh sentence delivered on accused processed by Alberton SAPS.

The sentence related to an incident that occurred on June 10, 2016, when a victim was held up by two suspects using a toy gun. The suspects were traced back to Alberton North. The victim pointed out the suspects immediately. The stolen property was recovered and the individuals were charged with armed robbery.

Following the trial, both accused were sentenced to 13 years imprisonment for the armed robbery at Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.
