Oosthuizen, Du Plooy in court on May 31

The case has been postponed until May 31.

SHAUN Oosthuizen and Johnny Du Plooy appeared for the first time in the Johannesburg High Court on May 3. The pair is accused of the murder of Barbara Fenton. They also face a count of robbery with aggravating circumstances.

The first appearance in the high court was supposed to be a pre-trial hearing where the trial for the two accused was to be set.

The prosecution, however, requested the matter be postponed to May 31 due to a pending decision by the Director of Public Prosecutions to potentially centralise the cases where Oosthuizen and Du Plooy are currently on trial. There are cases being heard against the accused in Nelspruit and Springs.
