A 24 month inconvenience
The bridge over Swartkoppies was not fixed because Municipality had to send out a tender document after they had failed to secure contract for it to be fixed.
Schools around the area had shown great concern with this problem. Parents had to have had transport arranged for their kids to get to school which caused major problems during that time of March 11.
Claims rejected and numerical mistake by EMPD
Residents of Alberton were outraged when they discovered the municipality will not pay back any claims they sent in after electricity outages took placed towards the end of February.
There was a petition with regards to this situation that was sent around and when attended to, Councillor Bruna Haipel explained, “The petition was handed and the petition committe will only be meeting February 28 and 29
“It does not mean the petition regarding claims will be discussed.”
Community expressed their feeling and concerns with this matter of the claims that were rejected.
One million rand for each ward
During his state of the City Address, Executive Mayor Mondli Gungubele introduced Lungile Mtshali project, through which every ward would receive R 1-million.
“As much as the money allocated may seem to be a lot, it is not a lot of money. Please make sure it is sepnt wisely.” –
