AfriForum’s neighbourhood watch proving effective crime buster

A suspect in possession of the scooter and two suspects connected to the crime were arrested.

ON May 9, AfriForum’s neighbourhood watch in Alberton, in collaboration with the Jeppe SAPS, F&D Tactical and Afrisist Tracking, recovered a stolen scooter.

The neighbourhood watch received information that a green Honda 125cc scooter was stolen outside a business in Brackenhurst.

Collected information pointed the involved parties to three Johannesburg areas for investigation. The scooter was located in one of these areas.

One suspect who was in possession of the scooter and two other suspects connected with the incident, were arrested and taken to the Jeppe police station by SAPS.

“Quick action by SAPS and other parties involved once again proved what communities who stand together can achieve,” said Louis van Aswegen, chairperson for AfriForum’s neighbourhood watch in Alberton.
