CPS Security arrested two suspects following a shoot-out on Michelle Avenue.

TRAGEDY was averted on Michelle Avenue on October 10 when shooting erupted around 9.45am.

According to Tyrone van der Merwe, sales director of CPS security, patrolling officers from CPS security drove by just as the shooting started.

Two suspects were reportedly firing at a grey bakkie when the CPS officers jumped out and demanded their surrender.

The suspects stopped firing and surrendered, after which they were arrested.

According to CPS they recovered two firearms from the suspects. The firearms are believed to be unlicensed.

The vehicle used by the two suspects was confirmed as stolen.

The suspects were taken to Alberton SAPS where they were charged with attempted murder, possession of unlicensed firearm, possession of unlicensed ammunition and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
