Alberton SAPS recovered the truck believed to be transporting goods from Cape Town

It is believed the truck was en route transporting goods from Cape Town when it was hijacked in Vereeniging.

POLICE officers from Alberton SAPS recovered stolen goods from a truck believed to have been hijacked on October 4.

It is believed the truck was en route transporting goods from Cape Town when it was hijacked in Vereeniging.

Police saw suspects arriving at a building in Alberton, and suspecting something was wrong, and then made enquiries.

The officers caught the suspects in the process of unloading the truck. The suspects were arrested and the goods recovered returned to the rightful owners.

“The victim of the hijacking was found without injuries,” said Capt Manare Ramotshela, spokesperson for Alberton SAPS.

“The firearm used by the culprits has not been recovered, and other suspects involved in the crime, are still at large, but I believe we will track them down soon .”
