EMPD finds drugs and gold in shack in Palm Ridge

Two suspects were arrested in connection with possession of dagga and gold.

EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit cracked down on a shack in Palm Ridge on October 19, after a community member alerted them to strange activities there.

The hawk-eyed resident noticed that more than 10 dodgy-looking people frequented the shack on a daily basis.

At around 1.30pm, the officers entered the property and arrested two suspects, aged 19 and 25, after discovering five wrapped packets of dagga valued at R3 550 and 9.42g of gold nuggets.

The two suspects were taken to Eden Park police station and charged with possession of dagga and illegal possession of gold.

Detectives are currently investigating the origin of the nuggets found in the shack.
