The EMPD Speed Enforcement conducted a special operation on the N12 between the Reading Interchange and the Voortrekker Road off-ramp. Three suspects were arrested for excessive speeding. One suspect was clocked at 172km/h in the 120km/h zone driving a white Toyota Corolla sedan. When asked why he speeded he cited that he was rushing to have a new windscreen fitted. The other two suspects were both arrested for doing 161km/h.
The three suspects were all booked in at the Alberton Police Station and charged with reckless and negligent driving.
