Under the school’s recently appointed principal, Tommie Stoltz, Parklands High’s class of 2019 has attained a remarkable 87.7%, following a 60% pass in 2018.
Bongani Mputi outshined as the school’s top achiever after getting a distinction in physical sciences with an average of 75%.
He was followed by Matthew Tsakatsa with an average of 70.7%.

The school also has six subjects with a 100% pass rate. These include accounting, economics, geography, history, physical sciences and tourism.
Stoltz said: “All our subjects improved compared to 2018. I remember when I got here, I only told my learners that the amount of hard work they put in will determine their results. I am very proud of the class of 2019 and I hope from now on, looking forward we will produce only the best results.”
Bongani Mputi told the RECORD that he will be studying computer sciences at the University of the Witwatersrand, while Matthew Tsakatsa will pursue a career of one day becoming an Actuarialist.
