The hills all around the Klipriver valley will come alive with sound of music on Saturday May 31.

THE LIDO HOTEL – Big Band Night at the New Lido Hotel with The John Davies Phat Brass featuring Harry Talas.

The Big Band era has made a comeback in the States and Europe and now a Big Band Night is happening right here in the New South of Johannesburg. With names like Michael Bublé, Josh Grobin, Harry Connick Jnr , Sir Rod Stewart, to name a few fronting Big Bands. The sounds of Count Basi, Duke Ellington, Star Kenton, Buddy Rich, Johnny Dankworth and Ted Heath are vibrating around South Africa with programmes like Eleanor Moor’s Band Stand on Big Band Radio 702. For those in classical music you will recognise a couple of familiar tunes. (Classic/Jazz Fusion) arranged by John Davies.
