The vehicle with a woman driver managed to get away, and another vehicle behind hers was the next target.
ALBERTON – A tactical officer from CPS spotted two male suspects on June 26 at 18:30 on Michelle Avenue attempting a smash and grab.
A Nelspruit male in a white Ford Figo was targeted and the suspects attempted a smash and grab, while the vehicle behind him bumped into his vehicle (as a distraction).
The two suspects smashed the victim’s window with a rock and attempted to pull him out.
The CPS reaction officer chased after one suspect into a nearby veld, while the other one escaped. He managed to find the suspect hidden in the tall grass.
When the suspect was taken to Brackendowns SAPS, it was discovered that he was a foreigner from Zimbabwe.
“A thank you to Constable Venter of Brackendowns SAPS for his quick response and good service,” on behalf of CPS.
