Woman escapes hijacking in Eden Park

Men in a white minibus tried to hijack a lady driving a Polo Vivo in Hudson Street, Eden Park at about 19:30 on Monday, August 11.

ALBERTON – The only thing going through her mind was escape, and she threw the car keys away and started running.

A witness who wishes to remain anonymous, said: “The white minibus drove up in Hudson Street and turned into Fiat Street, where three guys got out.

“At the same moment the lady in her Polo stopped at the container tuck shop to buy something when the three men approached her, drew a gun and demanded the car keys.”

Another witness said that the lady just threw the keys away and started to run towards people who were walking down the street, which acted as a natural shield for her.

“The hijackers then ran away in the opposite direction and the minibus drove off at high speed. The lady returned later, found her keys and drove off,” said a witness only know as ‘Gersh’.
