Cigarette van heist

A van transporting cigarettes was hijacked on August 20 in Camborne Road in Alberton.

NEW REDRUTH – The van was delivering cigarettes to a local convenience store in Penzance Street, when the driver was approached by two males.

The two males who approached the driver did not pull a gun on him, but informed him that they are not working alone.

They got into the van with the driver and drove to Camborne Road, where they stopped and proceeded to off-load the remainder of the cigarettes that were in the van.

According to a reliable anonymous source there was between R160 000 and R192 000 worth of cigarettes in the stolen van.
