High speed chase leads to arrest

Armed response vehicles and other members of the public noticed the high speed chase and assisted the resident to force the suspects off the road.

THREE housebreakers where arrested on Monday, August 25 after a high speed chase.

This follows the return of a resident of a complex in St Michael Street, New Redruth, Alberton. On arrival at the complex at about 13:30 the resident found suspects breaking into a unit in the complex.

When the suspect realised they were noticed, they fled the scene in a silver Ford Figo. The resident gave chase. At the corner of Swartkoppies and Michelle Ave, Fox Security armed response vehicles and other members of the public noticed the high speed chase and assisted the resident to force the suspects off the road.

It was when the suspects lost control of their vehicle in Hibiscus Avenue, Generaal Alberts Park in the veld that Fox Security, CPF members and members of the public assisted in arresting three suspects.

The three suspects were detained at Alberton SAPS for housebreaking.
