Stolen phone recovered

A distraught victim was able to flag down a CPS security tactical unit shortly after he was robbed by two white men on September 29.

ALBERTON – According to the victim, who was robbed in the Alberton North area, the two men held him up with a knife and took his cellphone.

The CPS security tactical unit received information that the two men travelled down Seventh Avenue and went into a local business.

The two men were located on the corner of Seventh Avenue and Louis Trichardt Road. According to CPS security members they were attempting to sell the cellphone they just stole.

They noticed the CPS security members and started leaving the premises of the business. They were traveling towards Alberante, but they were apprehended by CPS security.

The phone was found in one of the suspects’ pockets and a knife was hidden in the front of his pants.

Alberton SAPS was contacted and the two men were taken into custody.
