Alberton CPF and residents assist in fight against crime

Alberton CPF would like to clarify their role in the community and the fight against crime, as well as the duties of the community members who decide to sign up and join CPF in standing up against crime.

ALBERTON – “We as the members of the Alberton CPF work in conjunction and cooperate with the SAPS Alberton and all the security companies, for example, SOG Security, Fox Security, SWS Security, CPS Security ADT and Chubb, in and around our area. These companies are the main security companies in greater Alberton,” Willie van Wyk of CPF explained.

Alberton CPF would like to clarify that they are not a security company, nor are they affiliated with one specific security company.

“Our members are all concerned citizens living in and around greater Alberton. The members of the Alberton CPF do patrols and report, any criminal activity spotted on these patrols to the SAPS and security companies, either by reporting it on our CPF radios or at the SAPS Alberton,” Willie said.

The role of CPF is to pass on the information relating to criminal activity to SAPS. They do this to curb crime and drug-related activities. This is done on a voluntary basis, without compensation. CPF members use their own resources to help keep the community safe for them and their loved ones.

“We work on a radio network to which the security companies are linked, to assist and cooperate with each other with the main objective of a safer community for all,” Willie said.

Alberton CPF wants to invite all residents to join the Alberton CPF to help them in their fight against crime.

If you want to join us, kindly approach the offices of SAPS in your area and inquire about joining the CPF in your area or send an email to bbm@albertoncpf.co.za or patrol@albertoncpf.co.za
