Residents reported unlawful activity to Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality who after investigating, discovered a number of illegal connections to the property.
The connections were removed on Thursday, January 15. EMM has stated that the property will be monitored in future to secure the arrests of the people responsible.
Complaints have also been lodged regarding the structural stability of the building; people living on the property while construction was ongoing, and the operation of a panel beating business from the premises.
