Unexpected crime fighters

Passionate residents show that they can help keep the community safe.

ALBERTON – SAPS thanks domestic workers for their pro-active approach to fighting crime.

A group of domestic workers in Verwoerd Park have taken a pro-active approach in fighting crime. They assemble on a regular basis to distribute safety tips to residents and the community where they work.

They have also recently been on the lookout for a vehicle in the Verwoerd Park area. A white Volkswagen Golf with tinted windows has been driving around very slowly in the area, and they have noted this suspicious behaviour.

They work very closely with Warrant Ofiicer Ngobeni and Sgt Mgedezi.

The Station Commander Colonel Kubone said that she appreciates their effort and thanked them for their contribution to the fight against crime. She also encourages others to become involved and to stand together. She especially invited men to make use of the example that these women are setting to the community.
