Driver shot in Yamaha Street

A case of attempted murder has been registered after a driver was shot in the hand in the early morning hours of Good Friday, April 3 at about 02:30 in Little Germiston.

The driver of a Volkswagen Golf was dropping a friend, and while talking and smoking in the car, they suddenly noticed two unknown men approaching.

With the bright street lights, they could see one of the men holding a gun in his hand. The occupants started to panic and instructed the driver to start the vehicle so that they could get away. While taking off, the men started shooting at the car.

The driver was shot in the hand and could only drive up to the corner of Honda and Pietersen streets, where his friend took over the driving. Two of the friends sustained injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.

Police are investigating and an appeal is going out to the community to come forward with any information concerning this shooting incident and the gang-related killing.
