Man dies after stabbing during robbery

Johnny Prince (42), from Phola Park, was stabbed by two unknown thugs during a robbery on Monday, June 29, in Opel Road.

ALBERTON – Apparently the man was on his way to buy beer in Eden Park when he was confronted by the two men who robbed him of his cash, stabbed him several times and left him for dead. This happened at about 09:00.

A witness, who asked to remain anonymous, said that after the stabbing the thugs ran away and the victim was left lying face down. By-standers stopped a passing ambulance which took him to Vosloorus Hospital where he died the next day.

The police are warning residents to be very cautious when disembarking from taxis at the notorious ”big house double-up”, as this is where the nyaope thugs rob people.

Numerous reports about the Klassen family’s property in Opel Road, which is used as a pass-through to Phola Park and dumping site by residents, have appeared in the RECORD.
