CPF patrollers operate according to a code of conduct

The Alberton CPF executive committee met and discussed the e-mail received from the RECORD about the alleged assault and abuse of the homeless.

ALBERTON – The newly elected executive committee has an open door policy and we always motivate the public to report all incidents, suggestions or praise to us. We did not receive any complaint from Jenni Bernard or Angels 4 Addiction.

General points regarding our patrollers:

n All our CPF patrollers sign a code of conduct and complete an induction course.

n Patrollers not adhering to the code of conduct will be subject to an internal hearing and depending on the nature of the charge, will either be dismissed, suspended or reprimanded.

n CPF patrollers may, in terms of the current legislation, arrest a suspect if a crime is committed in their presence.

n Alberton CPF patrollers only patrol in the Alberton policing area.

n All patrollers have a CPF ID card for identification purposes and use Alberton CPF patrol decals for further visibility while on patrol.

No written complaint was received by our executive committee regarding any of the allegations. We request that any information regarding the allegations made against the Alberton CPF, organisations and security companies be made available to us in order for the matter to be thoroughly investigated before any publications thereof can be made.
