Scouting suspects on the increase

Thieves managed to bypass security beams before breaking a window.

Residents from Mayberry Park need to be more attentive as there is reportedly an increase of suspects jumping into properties, allegedly to scout for valuables.

Jason Fourie, spokesperson for Hi Zone Security Services, said a housebreaking happened during the early hours of this morning, November 11, in Groendoring Street.

“The home owner thought something was amiss, but only realised this morning that there was a break-in at one of the backrooms on the property.”

Thieves broke a window to gain entry and fled the scene with, what seems to be, only a computer monitor.

“They must have checked out the property before because they managed to bypass the security beams,” Fourie said.

He added that the home owner is sure that it must have been the same suspects who were in his property the night before.
