Boma Park upgraded

Boma/Fore Street Park was upgraded and cleaned over the weekend, September 7.

Lions Club, together with DA Councillors, got together on Saturday morning, September 7 to upgrade and clean Fore Street Park next to the Boma.

Ward Councillor Bruna Heipel is also hoping to fence the park, once the R1 000 000 ward money is given.
Lions Club bought plants and planted them on one of the little hills at the park. Rubble, loose leaves, sticks and stones were cleared and gathered in heaps to be dumped.

Youth volunteers along with residents in and around the area also jumped in to help after posters were put in their post boxes.

One resident said, “This park has not been upgraded for many many years. It is nice to see and I thank you for your hard work and dedication in the area. Now I will have a beautiful view from my apartment window.”
Juice and snacks were also handed out to volunteers on the day.
