Safety tips for businesses

ALBERTON SAPS have issued a warning to business owners in the Alberton area to be on the lookout for business robbers.

Here are safety tips:

*Install surveillance cameras strategically and implement some form of entrance and exit control.

*Make sure people can be clearly identified by the cameras as video footage assists the SAPS with investigations.

*Keep the premises well lit, both in- and outside.

*Take special precautionary measures at opening and closing times. Ensure that two or more staff members are present when the premises is being locked or unlocked.

*Place panic buttons in strategic areas of your business including the cash office or strong room.

*Inform police of any suspicious characters who you consider to pose a threat.
