Spinning into fitness
Over thirty-five congregants gathered in the parking lot outside of the Viva Gym to join in the spinathon fun.
THE sound of spinning bikes was all you heard for a grueling four hours at Viva Gym, Comaro Crossing on Saturday, March 12.
Viva Gym held a spinathon that saw athletes and bystanders alike join in the fun of raising awareness for fitness.
Over 35 congregants gathered in the parking lot outside of the Viva Gym (directly opposite Meatworld) and joined in the fun of building and strengthening the Comaro community spirit. Viva Gym set up the spinning bikes early on Saturday morning in preparation for the four-hour long spinathon from 07:00 to 11:00.
According to Viva Gym manageress, Nicole Johnston, this was the first event that the gym has hosted following its opening in December. “People of all ages participated in the spinathon and we were so surprised that many of them actually managed to spin for the entire duration of four hours,” she said.
Johnston said the gym generally has open weekends and plans on getting more activities such as Zumba marathons and an outdoor boot camp, to name a few, up and running in the near future.
Meatworld were proud sponsors of a R50 voucher to every participant, ABI sponsored water, Debonairs sponsored pizzas and Viva Gym handed out free gym passes as well as T-shirts to the spinners.
